“They are quick to embrace their players, as it can be seen in people dressing up as ‘Melk Mans’ wearing ‘Giraffe Hats’ and nicknaming their players as if it where a baptism i.e Gregor Blanco ‘White Shark’. They are among one of the friendliest fan bases that welcome up coming and traded players with open arms and open hearts. As many Giants fans have stated about their previous or retired players Once a Giants Always a Giant”

Memorial Day
In honor of Memorial Day the Giants saluted the military before playing a game against the Arizona Diamonbacks. Nick Kimmel, a former Marine, threw the ceremonial first pitch, the SF Bay Area Joint Military Color Guard presented the colors and a flyover was performed by NSAWC NAS Fallon, Nevada and SFWP NAS Lemore Naval Airstation. The Giants wore camouflage on their hats and fans showed their appreciation for our troops with American flags. Barry Zito, the man behind the Strikeouts for Troops Foundation, took the mound and earned a win.
